ABOUT BRIGHT LIGHT ACADEMY KAYONZA
BRIGHT LIGHT ACADEMY KAYONZA , is a Nursery and Primary school for boys and girls and takes day and boarding pupils . The age range is from 3 to 13 years old. The school lies some 65 kilometers from Kigali city center, its found right behind the kayonza District headquarters on 10 acres of landscaped private grounds. This clean, beautiful and secure location provides an ideal environment for the education and welfare of students.
The student population has grown from 50, when the school opened in 2010, to over 500. The students are mainly Rwandans, but there are over 20 boys and girls from Tanzania and Uganda,
The school offers a strict but humanely administered disciplinary regime and any necessary disciplinary measures are balanced with counseling sessions for the students concerned. Its informal philosophy of "live and learn at Bright Light Academy Kayonza" promotes a culture of manageability, responsibility and good sense among students, a willingness to learn from and communicate with their teachers, and a desire to teach oneself. These components fall naturally in line with the Vision and Mission statements of the school.
The school is rich in MDD “Music Dance and Drama”, debating club, culture and norms club, football club, athletics and environmental club. Last year the best athlete boy came from Bright Light Academy, and the best footballer who went on the national level also came from Bright Academy Kayonza.
This term, bright light academy was the best in Music dance drama in the competition of Coca cola held at kayonza District.
Bright light is A member on MEB “ Mukarange Educational Board” and the school director Mr. SSEBAYINDA Godfrey is the general Secretary of the board.

History of the founder.
Born in Uganda to Rwandan refugees 24th/11/1979, Godfrey returned with their parents to Rwanda following the Genocide of 1994. Godfrey became a teacher in vocational and primary school. married in 2008. Have children. I sat down and thought of the way i can help the orphans and the afflicted children of our community and Rwanda at large.”
Recognizing that God was leading me to begin a ministry to aid the children of Rwanda, i followed His direction to establish the idea of Bright Light Academy in 2009. The following year 2010, I began the project: Bright Light Academy-Kayonza.
Through Bright Light Academy Kayonza, children may become sponsored by individuals across the globe to obtain healthcare, education at Bright Light Academy, and basic amenities which provide them with the greatest opportunities to rise above the poverty level in Rwanda and achieve success in the world at large.
So far now, the school which started with 50 children only in 2010, is now enrolled to over 500 children, both in day and Boarding sections. I have managed to provide free education to 50 children from poor families who cannot afford to pay for their education in our school.
I thank God for using me to help the community and my country at large, in the field of eradicating illiteracy.
